Amsterdam is ready to host the 8th Ethiopian Sport & Culture Festival from 29th to 31st July 2010, in collaboration with the Amsterdam municipality, Hivos – We Share, VON, JOS – WGM and Ethiopian restaurants: Addis Ababa, Ibssa, Ibis, Walia Ibex.- Football Tournament of 23 Teams, including 2 teams from USA.

Ethio sport club Amsterdam.
Ethiopian in Diaspora, North America and Europe have developed a tradition of get together. The Ethiopian Sport and Cultural Federation in N. America, ESFNA brings each year close to 50,000 Ethiopians together. The event is stimulated and encouraged by the authorities of US states. Apart from cultural innovations and manifestations, the event has a tremendous effect on the economy as well.
Since 2001, this tradition of getting together has been adopted in Europe too. Every year, thousands of Ethiopians gather in host European cities to colorfully celebrate the festival. The football tournament and cultural festival which has been held in Leuven, Koln, Frankfurt, Delft, Stockholm and Paris have been of tremendous success for the federation and respective host cities, not to mention the economic impact of the event.
We are happy to announce that our club is hosting the 2010 Ethiopian sport and cultural festival. Ethio-Amsterdam is organizing the tournament under the Ethiopian community association in Amsterdam, in collaboration with ESCFE,the municipality of Amsterdam and several organizations.
July and August are the peak of the tourist season in Amsterdam. In these months the weather is the finest. There are several places to visit in Amsterdam and a variety of cultural events and festivals are held in Amsterdam, some of them with an English-speaking public in mind.
